The town offers many good bars and restaurants, together with a variety of shops and supermarkets. Although the entertainment is mainly hotel based, a number of bars in Cala'n Porter feature regular evening shows, karaoke and discos, one of the most famous and exciting being at the stunning Cova d'en Xoroi - a nightclub inside a series of natural caves carved into the cliff face, which provides revellers with a magnificent backdrop to dance away until the small hours.
Many hotels have excellent, child-friendly facilities while there are other attractions in the town centre to keep the little ones happy. The beach in Cala'n Porter is a fairly large, horseshoe shape of golden sand enclosed by a rocky headland making it one of the more sheltered beaches in Menorca. There are a few shops and bars nearby with a large car park a few yards away. The rocks around the headland make a perfect platform for swimming and snorkelling. The beach can be accessed by road or a steep flight of steps from the town centre - be warned though, there are nearly 200 steps to negotiate which can be daunting if you have young children! A road train travels to the beach from Cala'n Porter centre, but can work out quite expensive for a large family.
